Conservatism is also an "ISM"

Although I consider myself politically a conservative, I recently realized something very troubling. I was listening to a talk show host that had a guest on his show who claimed that he was conservative but was against the ban of same ... Marriage. He claimed that that is what conservatism is all about, freedom of individual choices.  

Huh?

Is that why, as a society, we have to accept that marriage can be between anyone who feels love for another.  Is that why we have to accept the most despicable act that will ultimately destroy civilization? Every human being knows, that adopted children are less likely to succeed in life than biologically born children. Adoption is some times necessary, but it is definitely not the optimum situation.  In addition, the best balance there is for children growing up is the love of the mother and the toughness of the father or even if it is vice versa. However, making children guinea pigs to see whether something that was never tried before will work is simply evil and when the inevitable bad results occur it will be way too late to change anything. 

Today, as a society we are forcing more and more people to give up bad behavior that can lead to medical problems.  Smoking, Transfat, Seat-belts and car seats. People usually agree with these laws and therefore no one protests them. However the despicable act that the left wants legalized is most probably the most dangerous and the most destructive. The illnesses that one could get from these despicable acts are truly frightening. But to the left, if its about immoral behavior than it is acceptable if it is about simple pleasures than it is unacceptable. 

Now, if some idiot decides to take conservatism to the left who will hold back?  Therefore, moral and principled people cannot tie themselves down to a specific "ISM", rather go with God. Ask yourselves, what would God want me to do? Pray to God that he should show you the right path and then you will succeed.
